I started listening to the shortwave
There was a man on speaking out
At all the things that he was saying
I really started freaking out

He said we didn't come from monkeys
We never walked upon the moon
He said the UN owns our children
And that the end was coming soon

He said the earth was being poisoned
He said we didn't have a prayer
'Cause now we're drinking bottled water
Soon we'll be breathing bottled air

He said that in the year 2000
All the computers they would crash
He said the aliens were coming
But they're not going to save our ass

Since I've been listening to the shortwave
They said you ain't heard nothing yet
Just wait until you get a load of
